Departures on Boston Legal

As reported earlier this year, Paul, Denise and Claire left Boston Legal.
Why didn't they even mention that during the 90 minute episode of Boston Legal?
Does anyone know any reasons why Paul left? Or Claire? Or Brad?
I would love to see they explain this, and at least have one last episode of Boston Legal with these characters, and explanation why they're leaving?
Also, migth this has something to do with money issues? If they had been in an episode during the fourth season, they would also have to be paid royalties when of Boston Legal was released on DVD, therefore they just cut them off?
Any thoughts?
